since his last appearance on hemlock (2015 s double ep hek025) hodge has produced a seemingly effortless sequence of celebrated eps and collaborations for livity sound, berceuse heroique and no corner. equally comfortable squaring up with heavyweights such as randomer and peder mannerfelt as he is maintaining a prolific solo production output, hodge has cemented himself as a leading voice in uk dance music and a champion of the elusive sweet spot where functional techno resonates with soundsystem culture. a quick listen through his recent ra mix is a great way to keep up to speed with his recent output. one for the hemlock fans who have been patiently tolerating this year s more experimental cuts. swing for the fences is straight down to business getting the kicks in below one of those ear-wormer percussive atonal toplines hodge does so well� the drop is one of the heaviest we ve heard this year and tipped to raise some fingers, open mouths and spill drinks across dancefloors and tv studios worldwide. less pool cue more pool party aomame is a breezy melodic (patio) heater powered by tough drums and intricate percussive work. arranged for both the dancers and the heads it freely refreshes and translates the main theme with a precision and playfulness that few producers can match. medway will warm up or cool out the dance with big room sirens and some rude detuned drum work. still no messing about on the b2: it s a hodge thing all the way.

a1 is a deeply psychotic acid death march into confusion, so minimal and primitive (kick, snare, acidsquelch) it will challenge every beard and armpit and might even hypnotize the dj to the point he cannot mix in the next one. a2 is a straight up commodore 64 sid track with mongoloid data elephants tooting over a wobbly and tarded electroish beat. b1 is a dystopic dreamy rave stomper, starting out kinda datacuddly but gets more and more serious, with choirs of fable mooers taking you into that virtual bad trip you need. b2 continues as expected with more c64 sid madness, so snary i cant even determine if its in 115 or 230bpm.

so far we landed to vol.10, this time with a stunning release from l.u.c.a. of edizioni mondo francesco de bellis is one of our favorite producer with tons of releases as francisco, jolly music over the last two decades his music is a kaleidoscopic universe of beautiful harmonies reminiscent of master italian composer like morricone, stelvio cipriani and alessandro alessandroni, blending together soundtracks, �summer of lov � atmospheres and balearic pleasure.

alexx a-game makes his return to swing ting after last year�s �a-game everyday� & �gangsters� with the soulfully poignant �braver�. the 7� is the 1st physical drop on fact magazine�s label of 2016, following well-received equiknoxx & madd again! releases in 2017. in 2015 swing ting�s samrai & platt received a tune from alexx�s manager, �braver� asking if they�d be able to contribute to the production on the track. listening to the stems, it became apparent how amazing alexx�s vocal delivery sounded stripped to just the rhodes & bassline played by frequent a-game collaborator & fellow jamaican vern hill. after adding effects and flourishes the crew began playing the �smooth edit� on swing ting radio shows and at dj sets around the globe.

!! repress !! , following a recent outing under the mandar alias alongside studio pals samuel andre masden and charlie naffah, nick putman presents his first solo single under the malin genie guise for two years. predictably, he explores a range of deep house styles over the course of a four track ep thats both quietly confident and largely impressive. theres a real bump to sense of swing, despite the presnce of warm, fluid keys, while propter successfully joins the dots between loopy tech-house and shimmering deepness. the techno influence is more obvious on the flip, where redskap and ulux both derive potency from the hypnotic nature of putman s immaculately produced groove.
